When Should I Do The P90X Hybrid?
So you have completed multiple rounds or even one round of P90X and are now looking for something else or even better. You are craving something more or even harder. The problem is some of you love P90X so much that you don’t want to move away from P90X because you have had so much success with the program already. I’m sure you started hearing about all the P90X hybrid type programs that are out there and now you want to learn about them. I can honestly tell you that I almost follow a P90X hybrid schedule on a weekly basis. I have been working out for 6 days a week for over two years now and have done almost every type of Beachbody program. But at the end of the day I miss my P90X and the the variety that it offers. It was a perfect combination. Resistance days, cardio days and even some yoga. So I wanted to talk to you about what you can do as a P90X hybrid schedule. There are many choices but I am going to go over the most popular P90X hybrid schedule. If you want to “Bring it” even more this is a very easy and simple to follow P90X hybrid schedule for you.
The Two Most Popular Products Behind The P90X Hybrid
The two most popular programs behind the P90X hybrid schedule are obviously P90X as the first program and Insanity as the second. These two programs together offer you an intense and extreme total body conditioning program that will truly take you to the next level. I think it is the perfect combination of any two Beachbody programs because you can take the resistance training from P90X and add in the Insanity level of cardiovascular fitness and have a serious program that will give you even bigger results. This P90X hybrid is not hard to follow and is rather simple and I’m hear to explain to you exactly what to do.
How The P90X Hybrid Works
Its all about keeping it simple when it comes down to trying to figure out the P90X hybrid schedule. What you need to do is keep all the resistance days in place from P90X and subsitute the cardio days in P90X for Insanity workouts instead. For example. In Phase I of P90X you have the resistance training on Days 1 (chest and back), 3 (Shoulders and Arms) and 5 (Legs and Back). You will keep these days the same and not change anything. Now on Days 2 (Plyometrics X) and Day 6 (Kenpo X) this is where Insanity will come into play. Since Day 2 is a plyometric day I will substitute an Insanity workout like Plyometric Cardio Circuit on Day 2. On Day 6 when its a regular cardio day I will pick something like Pure Cardio from Insanity instead. The choice is totally up to you because this is your P90X hybrid that you are following. What I do recommend though is during Phase I choose Phase I workouts from Insanity as your substitutes. During Phase II you can then choose Phase II workouts from Insanity as your substitute. This is to avoid injury and not to overdo it. Unless you are in extreme shape this will allow your body to adapt and recover for the next workout without overdoing it. Then when you enter Phase II you will be ready for a change and to increase the intensity again. This will allow your body to continue to follow the muscle confusion concept so you don’t hit a plateau. Then finally when you hit Phase III of P90X you can choose any of the Insanity workouts that you want. The key is to keep it simple and don’t overcomplicate it. Keep your resistance days in place and substitute your cardio days with an Insanity workout. This will keep your P90X hybrid schedule easy to follow.
P90X Hybrid Options
There are always other options when it comes to the P90X hybrid. I myself sometimes even step it up to another level. If you are an Insanity The Asylum graduate you could take your P90X hybrid up another notch by substituting your cardio days with Insanity The Asylum instead of regular Insanity. Just remember to always listen to your body and don’t overdo it. This technically can be applied to any of the Beachbody programs. If you like Les Mills Combat then you can substitute that on the cardio days. If you like Turbo Fire you can substitute that. Then its just called a Turbo Fire P90X hybrid! Its all about keeping your body guessing and to never hit that plateau.
My Favorite P90X Hybrid
So my favorite P90X hybrid is taking Insanity The Asylum both Volume I and Volume II and replacing them on the cardio days. If a new Beachbody program has just come out I will do that in entirety. But I am a big fan of P90X and I always end up going back to that program and schedule. But I am always replacing those cardio days with different intense cardio workouts from other programs.
