P90X Tips I Wish I Knew!
I wish I had a place to go to and get some P90X tips when I first started doing this program. I was first introduced to P90X back in 2010 and became absolutely hooked. I had great results and have done a full 11 rounds of P90X. The program never gets old and each month is different than the next so my muscles constantly stay confused and I avoid ever hitting a muscle plateau. Therefore P90X is a program that you can do over and over and continue to benefit from it each time you do it. I wanted to write this blog on P90X tips because I know these tips will benefit you as you progress through the P90X program. Let’s get right into my P90X tips.
P90X Tips – Write Everything Down
One of the best P90X tips that I wanted to share with you is to write everything down. You will hear Tony Horton say this over and over throughout the program. You need to write everything down because that way when you do a certain move i.e. military push ups you know what you did last time so you can strive to either do that some number again or try to push beyond that number. You always want to have a goal number and if you don’t write anything down you won’t know what your goal is. I will admit I didn’t write everything down the first few weeks and I was foolish not to. I don’t know who I was kidding by trying to remember everything I did. It was basically impossible.

P90X Tips – Make The Last Three Reps Count!
This is another one of those P90X tips that you will hear Tony Horton bring up multiple times in each of the workouts. The magic happens when you get out of your comfort zone. Therefore you need to make the last three reps count. If you are shooting for 10 reps then reps 8, 9 and 10 need to really burn. If you don’t feel the burn on the last three reps either increase the weight next time or do more reps. If you want the extreme results you need to put forth the extreme effort.
P90X Tips – The Minimal Equipment Needed
I always hear this question. “How much equipment do I really need to do P90X?” I had to add this in as one of my P90X tips. You can substitute resistance bands for weights as well as the pull up bar. You don’t need the pull up bar but in my opinion I would get it. The bands are perfectly fine for the resistance moves but I still feel the pull up bar should not be substituted with bands. You will also need a yoga mat and yoga block. You will use the yoga mat for Ab Ripper X and Yoga X. You will also use the yoga block during Yoga X itself.
P90X Tips – Ab Ripper X Scheduling Tip!
Let’s face it. Many of us are always pressed for time. Everyone is busy in todays age and adding in the Ab Ripper X 16 minute workout three days a week is an added burden. I know for me in the mornings I have about an hour to workout before my kids get up. I work out at 5am and just can’t get myself up any earlier. So what I do is add in the Ab Ripper X workout in the evening. Therefore I split the workouts up and it’s more doable. Don’t beat yourself up over breaking up the two workouts. As long as you get them in you are fine.
P90X Tips – Don’t Skip The Yoga!
This is another one of those important P90X tips. Trust me I get it. The Yoga is very long and seems like a drag. At times it feels like torture. But let me tell you that yoga is truly the fountain of youth. With a program like P90X you need one day a week to stretch yourself out and work out the kinks. Yoga is very hard and is a humbling experience. You will probably be falling all over the place the first few times you do it. However, in a society like today we need this type of workout more than ever. This workout causes you to slow down, breathe and hold very difficult isometric positions. But these types of moves are so good for you and will help your body recover so you can get the results that you want with P90X. It will also help you avoid injury. So at the end of the day don’t skip the Yoga!
