P90X3 – I Was A Little Apprehensive
I will admit I was a little apprehensive about P90X3 just because the workouts were only going to be 30 minutes long. But I kept reminding myself how intense and hard T25 was and the results I gained. So if T25 was only 25 minutes long then 30 minutes of P90X3 should be fine.
P90X3 In 30 Minutes A Day!
I did the original P90X 12 times and it literally changed my life. So when I knew P90X3 was coming out I was pretty excited. The thought of getting in a solid workout in 30 minutes was even more exciting but like I said before I was a little hesitant about how good a workout you can get.
P90X3 Is Very Intense
I learned that its not a matter of how long a workout is but rather a matter of how intense and targeted it is within the time frame of your workout. For example, if I had to jump rope for 15 minutes non-stop I know for sure that the soreness I would feel and the calories I would of burned couldn’t compare to walking 30 minutes. So with that in mind I was ready to go all in to P90X3.
Day 18 Of P90X3
So here I am at Day 18 and I couldn’t be happier. I think a little Shaun T from Insanity and T25 got in Tony Horton because the Agility X workout and CVX were very intense cardio workouts. Nothing like the original Kenpo X or Plyocide. Much harder and in only 30 minutes!!! CVX for sure killed me today. It is doing 30 minutes of cardio non-stop but while holding a weight. I held a 10 lb dumbbell throughout and it absolutely crushed me! You would never think holding such a light weight could be so hard!
The other workout that I really love so far is The Challenge. It is similar to the original P90X Chest and Back workout. You do four rounds of four moves each. 2 sets of push-ups and 2 sets of pull-ups. Then a burnout of one pull up followed by 3 push ups. The idea is to keep your numbers the same. For example, if you choose 25 push ups and 12 pull-ups your goal is then to keep those numbers throughout the entirety of the workout. Yesterday I chose 30/15 and by the time the workout was over I felt nauseous and sick. I think I overdid it. But always know I crushed it!
Overall, I am super excited to continue this program. The combination of high intensity strength training and cardio workouts all done in 30 minutes is heaven. I absolutely love it and can’t wait to see my results once I’m done!
