9 Years As A Single Parent
For nearly 9 years of being a single parent while working both a full time job and a part time job to make ends meet, I never had time for a workout plan or to eat healthy. I finally met the man of my dreams and we got married in 2008. Life finally got a little easier and life’s pace slowed down a little bit. I learned how to relax.
Packing On The Pounds!
Before long I noticed the pounds were adding up. I wasn’t really worried until I saw myself in a birthday picture and WOW it hit me! Then as it almost always does the aches and pains began to surface. The struggles I began to have made it even worse. I couldn’t even get out of bed without sitting on the edge. I would then shuffle along to the stairs while taking one step at a time with both feet! It was just getting ugly! There had to be a better way especially since I wasn’t even 50 yet! I had enough of this!
My Ah-Ha Moment!
One day while watching TV, I saw an infomercial for a 10 minute workout. Heck! I could make room for 10 mins a day and I realized I had to make a choice. Either I was going to have to buy bigger clothes or start getting taking care of myself and getting healthier. I chose to get healthier!
The 10 Minute Trainer Workout program arrived and it included a 7 day sample of Shakeology. It was honestly delicious!
Onward and Upward!
So I began to eat healthier and within 30 days of doing the 10 minute workouts for 5 days a week I graduated to 2 ten minute workouts! I was so impressed! Then I was up to doing 3 ten minute workouts after only 5 weeks! But the best part was at the end of the 60 days I had lost in total 15 pounds and 10 inches overall. This was all from making a choice to get healthier or else pay the price as I began to age.
Met My Coach!!
I met up with my Coach David Atkins. He was a Beachbody Coach who reached out to me and invited me into one of his online fitness groups. This was to help me be more accountable for doing my workouts each and everyday and eating even healthier. Though I had great results with the Ten Minute Trainer program, I really wasn’t on target. This is where the groups came in! It was amazing! Since I started my first group I have met so many people and have made numerous long lasting friendships by just being connected to this health and fitness community!
Paying It Forward!
I am paying it forward now as a Beachbody Coach so I can give back. I want to help my friends and family become healthier and to lead a more active life style just like me. There is nothing better than being significant in someones life, doing something you love and feeling great yourself while doing it. Turning this into a rewarding bonus was just the icing on the cake! I’m excited to see what the future holds!
