What are Meal Replacement Shakes?
In theory meal replacement shakes are a source of food that should replace one entire meal. The hard part is people always say how can meal replacement shakes really satisfy your hunger. Well the answer to that is finding the right one that actually has a variety of vitamins and minerals and is truly healthy. Just drinking a whey protein drink will give you a good source of protein but this is not a meal replacement. Same thing goes for juicing. Juicing is very healthy for you but simply drinking a glass of apple juice from fresh apples is not enough to satisfy your hunger. I wouldn’t consider these good options to fulfill a meal and therefore finding a shake that isn’t high in calories and has a variety of vitamins and minerals without anything artificial added could be a challenge. Too many shakes on the market have artificial sweeteners and chemicals in them which is not healthy for your body. Meal replacement shakes can work to your advantage in so many ways. First and foremost people too often overeat at one of their meals. For example, you miss breakfast and by the time lunch comes around you are starving and you over indulge. The problem with that is your body will actually store all that excess food you ate as insulin fearing you may miss another meal later on. This insulin then ultimately turns to fat. A big no no! Since everyone is busy these days replacing a well balanced meal with one of the many meal replacement shakes will eliminate the possibility of you missing a meal and feeling overly hungry by your next meal. Another reason why meal replacement shakes are better for you is because most of them aren’t high in calories. Many of them are a few hundred calories or less and therefore you won’t overdo it. This health benefit will avoid you from picking something up at work at the local deli or pizzeria and eating not only bad calories but unhealthy calories as well. I like to call them empty calories. Meal replacement shakes can replace one of your meals which is low in calories and its something that is relatively healthy.

When Is The Best Time To Drink Meal Replacement Shakes?
This is a very good question. I always tell the people I Coach that the best time to have one of the meal replacement shakes is the time of you day you struggle with most. If you find that you constantly overeat at lunch then have your shake for lunch. If dinner is where you always overdo it then have it for dinner. There is no one time that is better than the other. Its about choosing the time that works for you and the area that you struggle with most. Meal replacement shakes should make eating healthier easier for you.
Meal Replacement Shakes – Which One Is The Best?
There are so many meal replacement shakes out there at stores like GNC and I’m not about to bad mouth one specific shake. But the one that has truly worked for me is Shakeology.
